How have Cold War events shaped the United States in the 21st century?

Although the Cold War resulted in the loss of many American lives, it gave us the poilicy's we live by today. It gave us tThe Family Asssitance Plan, which gave every family of four with no basic income $1,600 a years. The Cold War also gave us, social social security, medicare, and medicaid. It also made food stamps more abundent. In addition the threat of the Soviet Union and Communism forced the U.S to become more aware of it's sorroundings. The Cold War was one of the first time an actual nation had the guts to threaten the U.S. From the Cold War many technological and social advancemnt occured. In technology, radios, Tvs and better record players were being developed. Socially, the spread of equal rights was increased and many changes happened from this. For example, The Civil Rights Act that was established in 1964 banned public discrimination. Overall, the Cold War brought about many changes.

How has the Cold war shaped America’s role both domestically and globally?

Domestically the Cold War attributed to many benifits from congress and the government. During the Cold War the presidents that took office believed that the American citizens needed help. Which lead to many developments, like I stated in the above paragraph that helped us, American Citizens. However, globaly the U.S. was still pretty protectie over the naton and who they formed allainces with. Although, after the Cold War president Nixon developed the policy of Delente. This meant that the U.S. would be more flexible when dealing communist nations. In addition, president Nixon developed the Salt I Treaty. This was a five year agreement that limited the amount of LCMBs and submarine missiles. To conclude, even though the Cold War had many bad outcomes, it also resulted in very benifical programs and deals domestically and globally.
